Open & Congress
The main venue of the AGI Open and the AGI Congress will be the Congress Centre (Kongresshaus in German and Palais des Congrès in French). Because of its high-rise office tower the Congress Centre is the most visible landmark of the city. Designed by Max Schlup and built between 1961 and 1966 the building is the most famous example of the modern architecture of Biel/Bienne. It was renovated between 2000 and 2002 by Rolf Mühlethaler. Under one of European’s largest suspended roof the Congress Centre hosts a large a concert hall, conference rooms, a restaurant, an indoor pool and a fitness facility. It is located in the heart of the city within walking distance to all the other venues, the hotels and the train station.
