Majid Abbasi was born in 1965 in Tehran. He graduated from the department of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran in 1996 with a degree in visual communication. In the same year, he co-founded his prestigious studio, Did Graphics Inc., in Tehran. Later, at the invitation of Morteza Momayez, he taught at the University of Tehran from 2003 through 2007.
Informed by more than two decades of experience as the co-founder of Did Graphics Inc., Majid consults on projects encompassing design management, process, presentation, strategic goal-setting, and conceptualization. In addition to his reputation for artistic and cultural work, he has extensive experience in leading creative teams through commercial and corporate projects.
Majid actively contributes to the international design community as an instructor, juror, curator, and writer. He has been the editor-in-chief of Neshan, the leading Iranian graphic design magazine, since 2010. Majid has been a member of the Iranian Graphic Designers Society (IGDS) since 1999. He is also one of the founders of The 5th Color, a collective formed in 2001 by what he described as, “the new generation of Iranian graphic designers.” Majid has been a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) since 2009. Recently, he founded Studio Abbasi Inc., his design studio based in Toronto and Tehran.
